On Saturday, the METRICH Enforcement Unit will join forces with the Drug Enforcement Administration and local law enforcement to host a Prescription Take Back event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

In Richland County, there will be six convenient drop-off locations:

  1. Richland County Solid Waste Authority facility, located at 1125 National Parkway, Mansfield.
  2. Richland County Sheriff’s Office, situated at 597 Park Avenue East, Mansfield.
  3. Bellville Police Department, found at 320 Bell St., Bellville.
  4. Shelby Police Department, located at 31 Mack Ave., Shelby.
  5. Plymouth Police Department, situated at 48 West Broadway St., Plymouth.
  6. Lexington Police Department, located at 44 West Main St., Lexington.

Please note that only pills will be accepted, and other forms such as sharps, plastics, or liquids will not be. To facilitate the process, it’s advisable to place the pills in a plastic bag before visiting the collection site. This initiative is exclusively for household unused or expired medications and not intended for pharmacies, businesses, pharmaceutical sales representatives, etc.
