With summer coming to a close one of the year’s final festivals in the area took over the streets of Uptowne Galion Thursday night.
Running through Saturday night the 40th Annual Galion Oktoberfest came to life offering food, rides, and musical entertainment. Another opportunity that the Oktoberfest brings is a chance for friends to get together and enjoy all of the street fair offerings.
Mike Brown and Beth Howlett explained what brought them out to the festival.
“It’s an annual thing that we do always do,” Howlett said. “We always enjoy the music the food, and the friends that we meet up here.”
“I really enjoy the music and some of the food,” Brown added.
Friends Derek Snay, Lily Moy, and Timothy Crawford were catching up with each other as they took in the Oktoberfest.
“Friends and food are my favorite part about Oktoberfest,” Snay said. “My favorite has been the blooming onions.”
“My favorite has been the food, I really liked the bratwurst stand,” Crawford added.
“My friends are why I came, but to be honest I really like everything, and the rides are really fun,” Moy said.
The John Kennedy Orchestra opened music on the main stage Thursday evening with the Semer Brothers playing on the second stage.
Friday’s main stage acts include The Rough Country Band, and Jessica Hannan while Cold River Rising, Calling Cain and Perfectly Damaged will play the second stage.
Elvis Aaron Presley Jr. will close out the music at the Oktoberfest on the main stage Saturday night at 9.
