BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—A driving instructor accused of sexually inappropriate conduct involving a minor was denied a request for bond reduction Wednesday in the Crawford County Common Pleas Court.

Bruce Creasap, 71, of Tiffin, is charged with four felony counts of gross sexual imposition involving a minor.

According to allegations presented in court, Creasap is accused of inappropriately touching a 16-year-old student, requesting the victim’s phone number, and discussing plans to run away with her.

Creasap’s attorney, Rocky Ratliff, filed a motion seeking to have his client released on a personal recognizance bond. Ratliff argued that Creasap’s age, lack of a prior criminal record, and ongoing health concerns made him a suitable candidate for a reduced bond.

Although the charges were amended to reflect fourth-degree felonies, Crawford County Common Pleas Court Judge Sean Leuthold denied the request and ordered Creasap’s bond to remain at the original amount of $150,000.

Leuthold did indicate that the court may reconsider the motion in the future should Creasap’s medical condition worsen.

Crawford County Now will continue to cover this developing story.
