The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services released county employment figures for December with good news in the numbers for Crawford County.
Unemployment dropped from 8.5 percent in November to 7.6 for December. Compared with October when the last county-by-county numbers were released, 300 more people were working in Crawford County in December than were in October and 100 fewer were on the unemployment rolls.
The unemployment rates listed in the latest report are not seasonally adjusted. Compared to similar reports, Ohio’s December unemployment rate was 6.6 percent while the jobless figure nationally was 6.5.
Crawford County still trails the rest of the region with only Huron County higher at 10.8 percent. Wyandot County has the lowest rate at 5.9 percent with Seneca County at 6.6 and Morrow County at 6.8. Marion County is 7.1 and Richland County is 7.5 percent unemployment.
