BUCYRUS—Here are the 2022 Crawford County Jr. Fair Royalty applicants. The contest will take place Monday, July 18th at 3 PM in the Youth Building.

Princess

Autumn Thoroughman is the daughter of Virgil and Toni Thoroughman. She is 14 years old and is in the Mt. Zion Buckeyes 4-H Club. This fall Autumn will be a sophomore at Wynford High School. Autumn has participated in student council, color guard, softball, cheer and is on the honor roll. This year Autumn is taking a photography, scrapbooking, and alpaca project. She enjoys spending time with her alpaca Cassie. Autumn also enjoys spending time with her grandparents, playing with her cat Eddie, shopping, and art.

Allie Pifher is a very strong and independent woman. She enjoys playing softball and cheering. She also enjoys spending time with her animals on the farm. Allie gets very good grades in school and is on the honor roll almost every time. She loves to help people in whatever way she can. She will always put others before herself. Also, she loves going out and hanging out with some of her amazing friends. Another thing she loves is being with family. She really enjoys camping and hanging around the campfire. Her favorite food is baked potatoes and salmon from her favorite restaurant Cheddars.

 

Marlie Hosey, 14, is going into her freshman year at Wynford High School. Marlie is a 7-year member of the Mt. Zion Buckeyes where she holds the secretary office. She is the current freshman class Vice President at Wynford High school. Marlie is currently involved in Wynford Marching Band, Pep Band, Softball, Volleyball, and Theater but is looking forward to being on Wynford’s swim team, Jazz band, FFA, FCCLA, and more for her freshman year. Marlie has been taking her alpaca, Merri, for four years now but has also taken sewing and art projects. Marlie is very active in the Crawford Theater company where she will be starring as Spongebob in Spongebob The Musical in August, The Bucyrus Little Theater, and Wynford’s Drama Department.

Caelinn Diekmann is a nine-year member of the North Auburn Hustlers 4-H club and has completed her sophomore year at Buckeye Central High School. In her club, she is the current President and a member of the t-shirt committee. Through her school, she is a cheerleader, participates in her school’s marching band, and does her school’s plays and musicals. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family.

MaKenize Sweeny is the daughter of Melissa Sweeny, MaKenzie has been in 4-H for 4 years and is a member of the Bucyrus Kilbourne Klovers. She is currently president of her club. At the Crawford County fair, she has completed several projects winning first place in those projects at county and many furthering her on to state level. Last year, she went to state on the pet pockets projects and won the clock trophy. She attended 4-H camp this year and next year plans on becoming a camp counselor. McKenzie has been in baton for the Bucyrus Americette for the past eight years and was Americette princess last year. McKenzie will be a freshman this coming school year at Wynford high school. She is involved in Basketball through stripes and is a cheerleader for both football and basketball for this upcoming school year I went for high school. She has participated in school choir, softball, basketball, and baton. McKenzie helps in her younger brothers club scout meetings and helping groups with their projects and will be one of the crew leaders for VBS this month. In her free time, she enjoys baking, swimming, traveling with her family, and camping with her family. McKenzie has dreams of joining the Navy after she graduates from high school. It would be a true honor for McKenzie to represent Crawford County as fair princess.

Brynn Bruner is an animal lover and would welcome any animal in her barn. Currently, she has French lop rabbits that love head rubs, dairy goats named Oreo, and cream puffs who love to eat treats out of her hands, and Bob and Bradley the feeder calves get excited every time Brynn is around and come running! We can’t forget her dogs, Kevin and Kayla…. She regularly bakes them all-natural dog treats in the shapes of hearts or dog bones. When Brynn’s not with her animals she can be found at the swimming pool or on the track pole vaulting. She has gotten to meet many new friends at Buckeye pole vaulting Academy. Brynn enjoys swimming outside but will swim anywhere. Her favorite place she ever swim was the outdoor pool in Tampa. There were 22 lanes and swimmers from all over the USA participating. The pools right next to the bay where she could watch the sunrise every morning. 4-H has allowed her to have fun, learn, and spend more time with her animals and friends.

Prince

Connor Corwin is the 16-year-old sign of Aaron and Jill Corwin. Connor is representing the dairymaids and gents 4H club, where he currently serves as a health officer for his club and actively takes dairy, dairy beef, and Holstein seers as his livestock projects at the fair. Connor is also taking a department one project called tune it up for he is learning more about small engines. Connor will be a junior at River Valley high school in the fall where he is involved with FFA and participates in golf. Connor is a member of the Saint Pauls Lutheran Church where he is also involved with his youth group where he participated in a missions trip to New York City. And his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family and friends and his dog Max and also enjoys riding his four-wheeler, working in the shop with his dad both tearing apart engines and woodworking, enjoy spending time with his fair animals, spending time restoring his 1949 Farmall cub tractor, and volunteering for his various community service events through 4H, FFA, and church.

Queen

 

Kendal Widman is the daughter of Tom and Kristy Widman. She is a member of the Sulphur Springs Star Farmers 4-H club. Kendal shows cattle, sheep, and goats and is also a member of the Marion County livestock judging team and is on the Crawford County Jr. Fair Board. Kendal will be attending Tri Rivers Career Center in their Vet Science Program in the fall.

Niyah Shipman is a member of the Barnyard Guys and Gals. The daughter of Thad and Michelle Shipman. She will be a junior at Colonel Crawford. At school, she is involved in Basketball, Volleyball, senior choir, and Track. Niyah is a good leader and very hardworking. She cares about her peers around her and loves making new friends. Niyah is outgoing, enjoys trying new things and love’s making new memories.

Katelyn Wagner is the daughter of Joseph and Michelle Wagner. In school, she is involved in FFA, basketball, volleyball, track, National Honor Society, and the Drama department. Her represented organization is the Heartland 4-H club. She is currently the treasurer of both the Wynford FFS and the Heartland 4-H club. She enjoys being with her friends and family as well as meeting new people.
