MANSFIELD, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The Mansfield Symphony Orchestra (MSO) will join forces with the rising talent of the Mansfield Symphony Youth Orchestra (MSYO) for a special mentorship performance, “Side×Side: A Night at the Oscars,” at 7:30 p.m. March 14 at the Renaissance Theatre.

The concert, directed by Octavio Más-Arocas and youth director Stephen Domka, provides a unique shoulder-to-shoulder experience where student musicians perform alongside seasoned professionals. The program features a blend of classical masterworks and iconic cinematic scores, including Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5 in C minor and music from “The Lord of the Rings,” “Pirates of the Caribbean,” and “Back to the Future.”

“This concert represents mentorship in action,” Más-Arocas said. “It’s about sharing knowledge, fostering growth, and inspiring young artists to see themselves as part of the future of classical music.”

The MSYO serves approximately 80 students from more than 10 counties in North Central Ohio, making it the only youth orchestra within a 65-mile radius of Mansfield.

In keeping with the Academy Awards theme, attendees are encouraged to dress in formal attire and use the red carpet photo booth in the lobby. The event is sponsored by the OhioHealth Symphony Series.

Tickets start at $15 and are available at the Renaissance Box Office, 138 Park Ave. W., by phone at 419-522-2726, or online at Rentickets.org. A “Date Night Package” is also available, offering wine and treats for an additional $5 per ticket when purchasing two or more seats.
