The Bucyrus Bratwurst Festival hit a final high note on Saturday night when country band Love and Theft came to entertain. A large crowd gathered at the stage by Farmers Citizen’s Bank to hear not only Love and Theft, but also local favorite the Cellar Dwellers.
They were followed by the O’Donnell’s; a father and son duo act based out of Nashville, Tennessee who cite the likes of Rikki Skaggs and Joe Diffie as their inspiration.
The headliners for the event were Love and Theft, another country duo composed of Stephen Barker Liles and Eric Gunderson, both of whom both sing and play guitar. They are famous for such songs as “Runaway” and “Runnin’ Out of Air”, but perhaps their biggest crowd pleaser of the evening was their hit “Angel Eyes”, especially for Valerie Shull of Bucyrus.
“I think it’s awesome. You know Bucyrus hardly ever gets any big bands here,” Shull said. “I didn’t realize who they were until my husband looked them up on the computer and they sang that “angel Eyes” song, and I love that song. So, yeah.”
Shull and hundreds of others enjoyed the show Saturday, closing down the 2013 Bratwurst Festival with a bang.
