BUCYRUS—A jury has been seated in the first of three murder trials set back to back in the Crawford County Common Pleas Court.
Judge Sean Leüthold set opening arguments for Tuesday morning.

Defendant Timothy Montgomery, 49, faces charges including murder, aggravated murder, and felonious assault.

Timothy Montgomery, 49, his wife Jaqueline, 43, and Cameron Davis, 31, will have separate trials.

The charges stemmed from the beating death of Michael “Mikey” Benedict more than a year ago. The three defendants engaged in an altercation with Benedict at a Crestline Bar.

Police were called, and they were all told to leave. Somehow they ended up on the same street where a vicious beating resulted in Benedict’s death.

He is represented by attorney Terry Hitchman. His wife, also represented by Hitchman, will begin her trial
on March 6th.

Crawford County Now will be in the courtroom to provide coverage of all three trials.
