BUCYRUS – Local law enforcement and emergency crews responded to a two-vehicle crash caused by hazardous road conditions the morning of Jan. 8.

According to Ohio State Highway Patrol Bucyrus Post Commander Lt. Scott Rike, a tractor-trailer driven by a 40-year-old was driving westbound on U.S. 30 when a 26-year-old Findlay man driving a Ford Explorer entered the four-lane highway from an entrance ramp from Ohio 4 north of Bucyrus.

The Findlay man’s vehicle then began to spin out of control.

According to OSHP troopers, the semi driver attempted to change lanes and avoid collision, but the passenger vehicle spun into the truck.

The tractor-trailer driver suffered no injuries, but his truck was disabled and was towed from the scene.

The Findlay man was transported to Bucyrus Community Hospital by Life Support Team EMS for unknown injuries, but the injuries are not expected to be life threatening.

Rike said the Findlay man is expected to be charged with failure to control.

The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office assisted on the scene.

The drivers’ names are being withheld until the official report is released by the state patrol.
