10:44 a.m.-Justin Tipton was issued a citation for driving with an expired license in the 800 block of Harding Way West.

11:52 a.m.-A report of a suspicious vehicle was investigated in the Harding Way East and Market Street area. It was a man looking for checks he had misplaced.

4:07 p.m.-A theft report was taken in the 600 block of North Market Street.

9:15 p.m.-A resident in the 400 block of Hensley Avenue reported kids shining a red laser light into his residence.

10:56 p.m.-A report of a woman screaming in the 500 block of North Columbus Street was investigated. The woman was not located.

Dec. 27, 2017

1 a.m.-Mack A. Edwards, Jr., was issued citations for driving under suspension, no headlights and failure to reinstate license when the vehicle he was driving was stopped by police 100 block of Sixth Avenue.

11:15 a.m.-A domestic dispute in the 200 block of North Liberty Street was investigated.

4:48 p.m.-A report of suspicious people in the 400 block of North East Street was investigated. It was a man showing a vehicle to someone.

6:07 p.m.-A report of a man harassing an employee at the Galion Public Library was investigated and the man was banned from the premises.

7:47 p.m.-A theft reported was investigated in the 700 block of Harding Way West.

10:01 p.m.-Michael Powers was arrested for theft in the 800 block of South Street.

11:32 p.m.-A report of an unruly juvenile in the 600 block of Grand Street was investigated.

Dec. 28, 2017

1:18 a.m.-Daniel Petty was issued a citation for driving under suspension in the 1200 block of State Route 598.

3:15 a.m.-A report of crossing gates stuck down at the railroad tracks in the 700 block of Portland Way South was forwarded to CSX.

4:44 a.m.-Traci Adkins was issued a citation for driving left of center in the 200 block of West Railroad Street.

10: 37 a.m.-A report of a breaking and entering in progress was investigated in the 400 block of Libby Lane.

12:00 p.m.-A resident in the 600 block of South Market Street reported a man was knocking on her door that she has a civil protection order against.

2:03 p.m.-A report of an assault that occurred in the 100 block of South Boston Street was investigated.

4:39 p.m.-A report of a lady going door-to-door selling popcorn that residents never received was investigated.

4:40 p.m.-Officers conducted a civil standby for a custody exchange of a child in the 700 block of South East Street.

5:02 p.m.-A report of gunshots being heard in the South Street area was investigated.

6:52 p.m.-Officers delivered a message to a resident in the 400 block of Hensley Avenue for the Richland County Sheriff’s Office.

7:02 p.m.-A Clearview Avenue resident reported a large sum of money stolen from their savings account. The incident is under investigation.

10:43 p.m.-A report of gunshots being heard in the Grand Street area was investigated.

10:44 p.m.-A domestic dispute was investigated in the 300 block of Portland Way South.

11:23 p.m.-A report of a stolen vehicle was investigated in the 200 block of South Market Street.

9:08 a.m.-A welfare check was conducted on a resident in the Cedargate Court area.

2:43 p.m.-A two-vehicle, non-injury accident was investigated in the Clymer Avenue and Harding Way West area.

3:15 pm.-A domestic-in-progress was investigated in the 400 block of Second Avenue. Robert Gallant, 40, was arrested for domestic violence and aggravated menacing.

3:26 p.m.-A report of an assault in the 900 block of Rosewood Drive was investigated.

3:39 pm.-Officers assisted EMS personnel in the 6400 block of Crestline Road with a man that had fallen.

8:21 p.m.-A report of a suspicious vehicle in the Firelands Federal Credit Union area was investigated.

11:33 p.m.-Devon T. Strader, 24, Mansfield, was arrested in the 400 block of Third Avenue on a warrant for failure to appear.

Dec. 30, 2017

12:17 a.m.-A resident in the 200 block of North Union Street reported their vehicle stolen by a family member.

8:44 a.m.-Officers notified the city street department of snow-covered and icy road conditions.

12:47 p.m.-Officers investigated a possible overdose in the 100 block of Easton Way.

3:34 p.m.-Officers conducted a welfare check on a man in the 500 block of Portland Way South and everything was fine.

Dec. 31, 2017

2:39 a.m.-Keaton J. Clevenger, 21, Galion, was arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence after a vehicle ran off the roadway in the area of South Boston and Grand Streets.

6:32 a.m.-Electric issues at an apartment complex in the 1300 block of Harding Way East were forwarded to the city’s service-safety director.

10:48 a.m.-Lori Richards was issued a citation for a traffic light violation in the 300 block of South Market Street.

1:56 p.m.-Leanna M. Fredritz, 33, Upper Sandusky, and Joshua L. Kohls, 37, Galion, were arrested for obstruction of justice and Dana L. Kincade Jr., 41, Upper Sandusky, was arrested on a Crawford County warrant at a residence in the 400 block of Grove Avenue. Fredritz was also arrested for possession of drug abuse instruments. At 8:38 p.m., a search warrant was issued to search the residence.

5:47 p.m.-James M. Busby, 29, Alabama, was arrested in the 100 block of Harding Way East for disorderly conduct when officers responded to a call about a drunk man punching a wall.

9:02 p.m.-A domestic dispute was investigated in the 300 block of Oak Street.

9:08 p.m.-A report of shots fired in the South Boston Street area was investigated and nothing was found.

9:09 p.m.-A report of a drunk male on the ground in the 100 block of Harding Way East was investigated and the man was released to a relative.

10:21 p.m.-Michael D. Powers, 28, Crestline, was arrested for theft in the 800 block of South Street.

Jan. 1, 2018

12:18 a.m.-Residents in the 500 block of Galion Arms requested officers to notify the city’s utility department to shut off their water as pipes had busted from the cold weather.

1:20 a.m.-A domestic dispute was investigated in the 300 block of Oak Street. One man was arrested and a female sustained several injuries.

1:43 a.m.-A report of a fight was investigated in the 400 block of Harding Way East and Denaya Smith was arrested for persistent disorderly conduct.

2:02 a.m.-A report of fireworks being set off in the 100 block of Clymer Avenue was investigated.

2:08 a.m.-A two-vehicle, non-injury accident in the 100 block of Harding Way West was investigated.

3:06 a.m.-A report of the theft of $80 from a truck in the 300 block of South Market Street is under investigation.

6:02 a.m.-One male was arrested for domestic violence and underage consumption in the 500 block of Grand Street when officers responded to a report of an assault.

8:15 p.m.-A report of a water line break in the 100 block of Third Avenue was forwarded to the city’s utility department.

10:20 p.m.-A Seventh Street resident reported their house filling with smoke.

Jan. 2, 2018

3:43 a.m.-Diego J. Gonzalez was issued a citation for possession of marijuana drug paraphernalia in the Cedargate Apartments area after officers received a call regarding loud music.

6:52 a.m.-A South Boston Street resident reported their vehicle broken into and a bag stolen.

1:16 p.m.-A Fairview Avenue resident reported three checks stolen by someone she knows.

2:50 p.m.-A non-injury, two-vehicle accident in the 900 block of Charles Street was investigated.

4:40 p.m.-A theft report was taken in the 700 block of Harding Way East.

9:32 p.m.-A report of loud music was investigated at Cedargate Apartments and the resident was told to keep it down.

9:42 p.m.-Leonard C. D. Triplett was issued non-compliance suspension and driving with an expired registration.
