The Galion City Council was efficient on Tuesday in sending legislation to third readings.
Four ordinances were declared emergencies and sent straight from their 1st readings to final readings. The first was Ordinance No. 2017-16, which regards the transfer of funds into areas where needed.
The second was Ordinance No. 2017-17, which includes establishing the TIF Fund (414). Ordinance No. 2017-18 is basically the same as 2017-13, but the council decided to make purchasing a new boom mower its own ordinance. Considering that after purchase, the mower could take 60-90 days to arrive, the council voted to pass this on to its third reading with a 7-0 vote.
Resolution No. 2017-17 was passed along as well, simply regarding the payment to Columbia Gas.
Fox Winery, LLC, has applied for a liquor permit to be able to manufacture and distribute wine to the public. No one from the City Council, public, or police department voiced an objection.
During the public participation portion of the meeting, Anne Heimlich addressed the council with concerns about certain expensive windows of hers being replaced. Heimlich ended up leaving the meeting directly after, seemingly upset about the time limit given to those addressing the council.
