BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—As Valentine’s Day approaches, the Bucyrus Tourism & Visitors Bureau is inviting residents and visitors to “make it a date” in Bucyrus, highlighting the city’s growing reputation as a destination for weekend getaways.

From historic landmarks to a burgeoning craft beer scene, the city is positioning itself as a one-stop shop for couples seeking an authentic Ohio experience without the metropolitan hustle.

The local “staycation” experience typically begins with lodging at the Holiday Inn Express or Quality Inn, providing a central base for exploring the Crawford County seat. Morning itineraries often feature local staples like Lulu’s Kitchen or the scenic Pickwick Place for breakfast, while The Pelican Coffee House and Spot’s Rolling Bean anchor the downtown morning caffeine scene.

For those seeking more than just a meal, the city’s retail and history sectors offer a distinct local flavor. Shoppers can find regional goods at The Amish Vault and Crossroads Candles, or pick up premium cuts at Center Street Meats and Carle’s Market.

History remains a cornerstone of the Bucyrus draw. The Bucyrus Copper Kettle Works—one of the last of its kind in the United States—and the murals of the Great American Crossroads provide a visual narrative of the city’s industrial and cultural heritage.

The evening transition highlights the city’s nightlife, featuring dinner at Old 30 BBQ or Baker’s Pizza, followed by entertainment at Suburban Lanes. The nightcap scene has seen a recent boost with the presence of the Bucyrus Taphouse and The Arrogant Goat, a local nano-brewery specializing in small-batch crafts.

“We invite you to visit Bucyrus and fall in love,” organizers said in a recent community update. “Not just with your Valentine, but with the flavors, sights, and experiences that make this town special.”
