BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—First Federal Community Bank has launched a series of summer initiatives combining financial specials, community service, and fraud prevention education in celebration of the ongoing America 250 historic milestones.

The bank has partnered with the American Legion Auxiliary Post 181 to host a “Socks for Soldiers” drive throughout the month of July. Collection boxes for new sock donations have been established at all First Federal branch locations and the American Legion post. Additional community programming includes an upcoming children’s coloring contest and participation in the local First Friday festivities.

In response to rising regional scam attempts, representatives from First Federal and FC Bank will also present at an upcoming July “Lunch and Learn” seminar hosted by the Crawford County Chamber of Commerce. The presentation is organized under the Crawford County Fraud Alert Network, a relatively new collaborative effort created by Chamber ambassadors allowing local financial institutions to share real-time security tips and flag emerging scam patterns affecting the area.
