BUCYRUS— Public Notice:
This morning Fire Chief Chad Schwemley was advised via a letter from Mayor Reser and Safety Service Director Wagner that starting Monday, February 20, 2023, the fire department’s staffing will be reduced to a minimum of four (4) on duty per day.
This reduction in staffing will directly impact the citizens of Bucyrus and those citizens we provide EMS service to in Lykens, Homes, Bucyrus, and Dallas townships. This reduction in daily staffing likely will cause delays in receiving EMS care and/or a fire engine in the event of a fire.
Chief Schwemley and the members of the Bucyrus City Fire Department are dedicated to providing the highest level of care and service and will continue working together to find a remedy to the staffing shortages placed upon us by this administration.
