Grandstand attractions for the 2015 Crawford County Fair began to shape up during Monday’s Senior Fair Board meeting.

Returning will be the Demolition Derby, rodeo, harness racing, and tractor pulls. However question marks remain as to whether the Fair Jam or Figure 8 race will return. The return of Fair Jam apparently comes down to whether the event promoter will still put on the show. As for the Figure 8 races, the Fair Board discussed the possibility of replacing that event with dirt drag racing or a tug-a-truck event.

Also approved for the 2015 fair are the returns of sheep shearing and the Steel Creek Band.

A move to rescind the motion that moved the Grand Champion Sale from Friday to Saturday was turned down Monday night. Since the motion was brought up during the meeting and not part of the original agenda, a two-thirds vote was needed. However the vote was a deadlock at 10 votes apiece rejecting the motion to rescind the move of the Grand Champion Sale. As a result the Grand Champions of each species will be sold at the start of each species during the sale on the final Saturday of the fair.

In setting the 2015 Crawford County Agricultural Society pricing schedule the Fair Board approved keeping prices the same on buildings, Fair Book ads, and camping. Prices will be raised on the box seats by $15.

The Fair Board approved adding three guns to the side raffle of the Feb. 21 Gun Raffle to be held in the Youth Building of the fairgrounds.

The Fair Board approved the motion of charging Cloverbuds that are 9 years or older as of Jan. 1.

The annual report of the Crawford County Agricultural Society for the fiscal year of 2014 was given during Monday night’s meeting. In that report it was noted the cash balance was $52,457.61 on Nov. 30, 2013 and $61,415.64 in November of this year showing an increase of $8,958.03.

The next Crawford County Fair Board meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Jan. 28.
