**UPDATE**

The Mansfield Division of Police was notified several hours later that the male victim also succumbed to his injuries.

MANSFIELD, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—At approximately 3:34 p.m. on November 8, 2024, officers responded to a report of a domestic violence incident at 300 Wood St., Apt. 14. Upon arrival, neighbors informed officers that they had heard gunshots coming from the apartment, prompting officers to immediately enter the residence.

Inside, officers found a male and a female victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. They rendered medical aid until Mansfield Fire Department personnel arrived on the scene and transported both victims to Ohio Health. The female victim was pronounced deceased a short time later, while the male victim remains in critical condition.

During the investigation, detectives determined that both victims had sustained gunshot wounds. However, they do not believe any additional persons were involved in the shooting at this time. The Richland County Coroner’s Office will conduct an autopsy on the deceased victim as part of the ongoing investigation.

Major Crimes detectives are working to determine the circumstances that led to this tragic event. Additional details will be released as they become available.
