The water came up but not as high as feared overnight on Thursday. Although the area remains under a flood watch until 10 a.m. today, high water reports were minimal in Crawford County.

A dispatcher with the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office said water was across St. Rt. 602 near the Remlinger Road intersection and plans were to close that road until the water subsided. The dispatcher indicated that was the only road that had been deemed impassable as of 4 o’clock this morning, although there were high water signs up elsewhere.

Bucyrus has no reported flooding and neither does Galion, although the Galion police dispatcher said there are a couple of places where the water is close to the roadways and added, “We’re lucky so far.”

The area received less than four-tenths of an inch of precipitation and the rain was forecast to stop by 5 this morning with only a 10 percent chance of additional rain today and tomorrow.
