Build a Bird Feeder: From 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 7   at Lowe-Volk Park

February is National Bird Feeding Month!  The Crawford Park District invites you to come and celebrate with us. It is a great time to make a tasty treat for our feathery friends that stay here for winter. Not all birds eat the same food, so we will have a variety of feeders to make. Stop in the Nature Center to make a birdfeeder to take home with you. The birds will thank you!

History of Sears Woods: 6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 8 at Lowe-Volk Park.

Before Sears Woods was a State Nature Preserve, it belonged to the family of Paul B. Birds & Coffee: 8 to 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 17 at Lowe-Volk Park.

The Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC) happens every year in February.  This count gives researchers a snapshot of bird distribution and abundance.  The Crawford Park District invites participants to help count birds at the Nature Center’s bird feeders and also be treated to some coffee and light refreshments.  A take-home component of this program will enable participants to count birds at their own homes and submit data to the GBBC.  Come for fifteen minutes or stay for the duration, just come and help with this great citizen science project.
