Staff report

Somewhere during the holidays Crawford County apparently lost 200 jobs. The latest numbers for the December 2014 jobs report from the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services shows Crawford County’s unemployment rate jumped 0.2 percent to 5.0.

The categories of workforce and employment both dropped by 200 from November to December. The number of unemployed remained steady at 1,000.

One year ago the county’s unemployment rate was 7.6 percent.

Crawford County and Richland County actually have the smallest increase of counties in the area. Huron County went up 1.4 percent to 7.9-percent unemployment and Morrow County jumped a full half-percent to 4.7.

The rates in the report have not been seasonally adjusted.
