Crawford County Commissioner Jenny Vermillion has been appointed by Governor John Kasich to the Ohio Public Defender Commission. Vermillion will be sworn in by Crawford County Municipal Court Judge Sean Leuthold to that post at 1:30 this Wednesday afternoon in the Municipal Courtroom at the Courthouse.

The Ohio Public Defender Commission is a nine-member board appointed by the Governor and the Ohio Supreme Court for the purpose of overseeing the Office of the Ohio Public Defender.

Vermillion has served as a Crawford County Commissioner for three years and is just the second county commissioner to serve on the Ohio Public Defender Commission. Vermillion’s term on that commission will run until Jan 12, 2018.
