NEW WASHINGTON — New Washington Village Council voted to accept a bid from Studer-Obringer, Inc. for the replacement of multiple catch basins in the village.
Studer-Obringer’s winning bid was for $38,000.
Other bids included Buckeye Excavating, $39,815; G&G Enterprises, $47,210; and R.A. Bores Excavating, $48,900.
Approximately 14 basins are expected to be repaired.
In other council business, council voted to make a resolution involving the future of ambulance services in the village null and void.
The resolution was written with the expectation that the City of Bucyrus would not remain in the Central Joint Ambulance District and New Washington would join a newly developed Crawford Joint Ambulance District.
Due to Bucyrus remaining in the district, council voided the resolution and will remain in the current district.
Steve Aichholz said Portsmouth Emergency Ambulance Services will begin servicing the district in October, as Life Support Team EMS requested to be relieved of its contract early.
Council’s next meeting is Sept. 10 at 4:30 p.m.
