BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—People’s Savings and Loan, a cornerstone of the Bucyrus community for over 135 years, continues to cement its legacy through extensive community involvement and a commitment to local relationships.

Miranda Miller, Vice President of Human Resources and Marketing, highlighted the institution’s unique position as a locally owned and operated entity, a rarity in today’s financial landscape. The bank, established in 1888, prides itself on fostering one-on-one connections with its customers, whom they know by name, not as a number.

“It really is [important], especially when we talk about being locally owned,” Miller said. “It’s important for us to be out in the community and the public and to see us out there, that we’re here and we don’t plan on going anywhere.”

People’s Savings and Loan maintains a busy annual calendar of community engagement, participating in events and initiatives nearly every month. The bank is a longtime parade sponsor for the Bucyrus Bratwurst Festival and is a fixture at the Crawford County Fair, where they support the livestock auction.

Beyond major local events, the institution sponsors the People’s Savings and Loan Scholarship for county schools and partners with organizations for community service projects. Their “Giving Tree” initiative has supported local charities like the Humane Society and adopted children for Christmas.

In an effort to further enhance customer relationships, the bank plans to open a small coffee area in its lobby. This new feature aims to encourage community members to stop by, enjoy a cup of coffee, and engage in conversation with staff.
