The people in charge of showing off Bucyrus are very proud of their small town so when someone wanted to highlight the community for the folks in the big city they were only too glad to help.

Neil Zurcher and his TV crew arrived to Bucyrus last Thursday, Oct. 15 to shoot several destination locations within our community for his show “One Tank Trips.”

one-tank trip 1Prior to his arrival, the Bucyrus Tourism and Visitors Bureau was contacted to help scout out potential locations. Zurcher indicated that he wanted to feature the Liberty Remembers mural because this program will air near Veterans Day.

Trish Ratliff, the Executive Director at the BTVB states that “beyond that it was a few days scouting out additional locations, narrowing down the potential selections, and then allowing Mr. Zurcher to choose his final selections.”

Zurcher indicated that when they schedule trips they are “looking for something in town that might grab a visitor’s interest.”

Zurcher, his producer Tomi, and cameraman Herb spent several hours gathering video featuring three attractions in Bucyrus. They first met at the downtown square with BTVB step-on tour guide Judy Lust and Chamber of Commerce Director Deb Pinion to view Liberty Remembers and Great American Crossroads murals.

They also met with Carl Massey, the owner of Carl’s Gas Station and 50’s Memories located on Hopley Avenue. Their final stop was with Trent Miller from Miller’s Drive-In on the Lincoln Highway.

The One Tank Trip program featuring Liberty Remembers and the other Bucyrus locations is scheduled to air on Tuesday, Nov. 3 on Fox 8’s New Day Cleveland Show at 10 a.m. V iew previously aired programs on Zurchers’ website at http://www.onetanktrips.com/.
