BUCYRUS—The movie, “Cherry,” starring Tom Holland and directed by Anthony and Joseph Russo of The Avengers movie fame is being released on Feb. 26 and one Bucyrus resident will appear in the movie.

Local musician and recording artist Princeton Wurm, 18, landed a role as an extra in the film that was shot in Cleveland and Marion, Ohio, as well as Saudi Arabia.

“I filmed in Cleveland. I found out about the role from my friend, Seth Blevins, who is also an extra in the movie. He is from Bucyrus too,” said Wurm.

Wurm said he appears in at least two scenes in the final cut of the movie that is set in 2003 and is about an Iraq War veteran, played by Holland, who comes back home with post-traumatic stress disorder and turns to a life of crime. The movie is based on a true story.

“There is a close-up of me in the recruitment scene where I am getting my hair buzzed,” said Wurm.

He said after filming was completed, there was a raffle that was held for the 400 plus extra actors who had roles in the film.

“There were several prizes and my name was drawn for a Nintendo Switch. Tom Holland pulled my name so I got to shake his hand. It was pretty cool,” said Wurm.

He said some of his fellow extras had interesting backstories.

“One guy had a role in one of the Fast and Furious movies as a motorcycle bad guy and another has worked as a stunt double,” said Wurm.

This was Wurm’s first acting role in a film but the Bucyrus High School graduate has several roles in school plays. He was also a member of show choir, gifted choir and marching band and the X Band during his high school years.

“I have always been involved in anything to do with music,” said Wurm, who also modeled in Chicago when he was younger.

His first album will be released in the near future and he has two singles out now, “Hollow” and “Quarantined Love.” They can be found on Spotify and other music platforms as well as his YouTube Channel under his name or by clicking here.

Wurm is currently enrolled in the engineering technology program at OSU’s Mansfield campus.

The movie, “Cherry,” will be out in theaters on Friday and soon on Apple Plus.
