BUCYRUS — After more than a year of being closed, Bucyrus area residents will be able to swim in the city pool again.

The Aumiller Park pool officially will open Wednesday.

It will be the first time the pool has been opened since August 2018 due to repairs of the pool being prolonged by contactor issues and other obstacles.

“The pool passed inspection and will open Wednesday as rain is in the forecast for Tuesday,” Bucyrus Mayor Jeff Reser said. “All repairs have been completed and inspections passed, staff is hired and the concession stand is stocked. We couldn’t be happier, and we thank the citizens for their patience with the closing.”

According to Reser, the pool will open Wednesday at 1 p.m. with a state-mandated limit of 150 patrons due to the COVID-19 pandemic and social distancing guidelines.

After several years of being closed, Reser said the baby pool once again will open for babies and toddlers.

The pool area will be open Monday through Saturday from 1-8 p.m. and Sunday from 1-6 p.m.

Reser has also said pool passes issued for last year but could not be used while the pool was shut down will be honored this year.
