Jeremy Lewis, 43, of Bucyrus, and currently held at the Crawford County Justice Center on a $1,000,000 bond, is having his phone privileges revoked permanently.
Lewis and his attorney Andy Motter appeared in Crawford County Common Pleas Court on March 22, to attend a hearing where the county prosecution moved to suspend Lewis’ phone privileges.
Assistant County Prosecutor Ryan Hoovler made the case for the revocation of Lewis’ phone privileges based on phone calls the prosecution monitored made from the jail to Lewis’ father.
At the end of the hearing, Judge Sean Leuthold temporarily suspended Lewis’ phone privileges until he could listen to the phone calls and rule on whether or not the revocation would be permanent.
Leuthold released his decision March 27 and cited several reasons for his ruling.
Noting that he had listened to the phone messages and recorded visitations he made the decision to revoke Lewis’ phone privileges.
His reasons were as follows:
- The defendant made multiple attempts to have third parties contact the alleged victim or initiate a conference call where the Defendant could directly communicate with the alleged victim.
- The Defendant used derogatory language to describe the alleged victim.
- The Defendant attempted to have third parties make contact with other potential victims in this case
- The Defendant discussed the possibility of assaulting a third party, unrelated to the case.
Lewis was also reiterated an earlier order that the defendant is forbidden to contact the alleged victim in this case and may not instruct any other person to do so on his behalf.
Lewis is scheduled to be back in court the second week of April.
