“Misery” unfolds the story of successful romance novelist Paul Sheldon, portrayed by Tracy McAdams, whose life takes a harrowing turn when he’s rescued from a car crash by his self-proclaimed “number one fan,” Annie Wilkes, played by Beth Hartzler. As Paul recuperates, Annie discovers that her favorite character, Misery Chastain, meets a grim fate in his latest novel. Fuelled by rage, Annie forces Paul to write a new Misery Chastain novel under her watchful eye, and he soon realizes that his life hangs in the balance.

Director Scott Painter: With over 30 years of experience directing more than 20 shows, including “Of Mice and Men,” “Doubt,” “Annie,” and many others, Painter’s return to the Bucyrus Little Theatre stage is eagerly anticipated.

Tracy McAdams as Paul Sheldon: A former Bucyrus resident, McAdams, now a funeral director in Columbus, has been involved in various productions since 2008, both as an actor and director. In “Misery,” he embodies a romance novelist fighting for his life.

Beth Hartzler as Annie Wilkes: Hartzler, a seasoned performer at Bucyrus Little Theatre, returns to the stage after a brief hiatus. Her portrayal of Annie Wilkes brings Stephen King’s iconic character to life, revealing hidden layers of malice.

Romeo Eggleton as Buster: Eggleton plays the role of Buster, a local sheriff determined to solve the mystery surrounding Paul Sheldon’s disappearance. With a background in theater and film, Eggleton adds depth to the production.
