BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Carolyn Shireman, Councilwoman-At-Large for Bucyrus, has officially resigned from her position on the city council as of Monday.
Shireman, who has been under house arrest since early January, cited personal reasons for her decision to step down. Her resignation comes amid serious legal issues; she faces charges of second-degree felony theft and a first-degree misdemeanor charge of intimidation. As of now, Shireman has not been indicted by a grand jury on these charges.
The Republican Central Committee will appoint a replacement for Shireman on the council. The committee is scheduled to meet in March.
Crawford County Now will continue to monitor this developing story.
