NEW WASHINGTON — The Buckeye Central Board of Education met for their August meeting Wednesday evening.

Board members were shown around the different school facilities to see what work had been completed during summer break to better the school for the next school year.

A notable change is renovations to the bleachers at the football stadium. The bleachers are not completely finished, as the press box goes up Aug. 16, and the bleachers will be bolted down afterward.

The football stadium also is getting a new scoreboard and new play clocks. The ticket booth also was repainted.

Another addition to the district is a disc golf course on the school’s property that is available for student and community use.

In other district happenings, the district has an open house from 6-7 p.m. on Aug. 16. The first day of school is Aug. 22.
