The New Washington community is remembering the woman who was slain last October while working in Willard and trying to assist her surviving family.
A benefit for the Jim Kelley family is being held this Sunday, Feb. 23, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in New Washington. A talent show will begin at 3 p.m. followed by a spaghetti dinner catered by Katering Kountry Style and featuring Rader’s Ice Cream and homemade cookies.
Jim Kelley’s wife Kim was shot Oct. 30 while working at the Family Dollar in Willard by a gunman who took her and others hostage. She is survived by her husband Jim and their sons.
Organizers of Sunday’s event are asking for donations from those who attend.
