CRESTLINE―After a one-year hiatus, the Annual Harvest Festival Car Show is back in a new way.

According to Crestline Police Chief Jeff Shook, the car show was canceled in 2018 due to the events and changes that had transpired. He said that over the past several months, many people had reached out to him and the Harvest Festival Committee about their disappointment with the cancellation of the car show.

“On that note, I am excited to announce that planning has started for the Inaugural Crestline Harvest Festival’s “Back the Blue” Car and Bike Show on Sept. 21, 2019,” Shook said in a recent press release.

Registration for the show will begin at 8 a.m. that day and the show will end at 3 p.m.

“This event will be held in conjunction with the Harvest Festival activities and will coincide with our Fire Department’s Pancake Breakfast. We have established a team of professionals to coordinate all that goes into a successful event and we are looking for any suggestions from the public as to what they would like to see,” said Shook.

The proceeds from this event will be used for the Police Auxiliary, Furtherance of Justice (FOJ), and Equipment and Training funds.

“We will not be soliciting funds as part of our daily law enforcement duties, so I am putting out his one and only request for donations for our cause,” Shook stresses. “We will have a 50/50 drawing on the day of the event and registration for the show is set at $20 per entry.”

Shook said there will be a DJ during the event and Dash Plaques will be given to the first 50 paid car entries and the first 25 motorcycle entries. Several awards and trophies will be given out at the conclusion of the event.

He said further information will be forthcoming and details are still in the works for early registration. Updates and more information will be given on the Crestline Police Department’s Facebook page.

Donations can be sent to the attention of “Back the Blue” Car and Bike show to the Crestline Police Department at 100 N. Seltzer St., Crestline, OH 44827.
