GALION — The Galion-Crestline Area Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with American Express, has signed up to be a Neighborhood Champion to encourage shoppers to visit the business districtsand support local businesses by “shopping small” on Saturday, November 24, 2018.
Neighborhood Champions are business associations, local chambers of commerce, and other community organizations who are willing to commit to organizing events and activities to rally their community members for Small Business Saturday and celebrate the small, locally-owned businesses in their communities.
“We are very excited to promote Small Business Saturday in Galion and Crestline this year,” says Chamber Member Engagement Director, Miranda Jones. “We wanted to partner with the Galion and Crestline merchants to spread the message of how important it is to support our communities by shopping locally.”
The Chamber will have tents set up outside of their office on Harding Way West in Galion and the United Bank on North Seltzer Street in Crestline from 9am to noon on Saturday the 24th to hand out free shopping bags and other Small Business Saturday promotional items. A flyer that will include all participating businesses, with their hours, location and sales items will be handed out. By stopping at each participating business, shoppers will have a chance to enter a raffle to earn a gift card, the more businesses visited, the more chances a shopper of winning.
Participating businesses in Crestline include: Depot Deli, United Bank, Fulton TV & Appliance Repair, Susan’s Doggy Spa, Crestline Advocate, Crestline Massage, Strauch, Obermiller & Son, Holcher Hardware, Kork & Kap, Main Street Grill, and Hempy Water.
Participating businesses in Galion includes: Hillman Jewelers, Tiger Blendz, Eagle Dance Center, H&K Watkins, East of Chicago Pizza, The Candi Bar, 1803 Taproom, H.R. Wolf Hardware, Brush & Palette Art Gallery, Phil’s Deli, Iron Vault Distillery & the Topia Boutique.
“Consumers play a key role in helping these small businesses thrive,” says Joe Kleinknecht, President/ CEO of the Chamber. “By shopping or dining locally on Small Business Saturday and throughout the year, we can show our support for all the small businesses in Galion and Crestline and reinvest our dollars into the communities we call home.”
