The Bucyrus Athletics Department is continuing a time-honored tradition in the district. Members of the Boys and Girls Basketball, Wrestling and Swimming teams, along with the Bucyrus High School Demo Band, will participate in a pep rally at Bucyrus Elementary School Feb. 21.

Along with the pep rally, Bucyrus Elementary School students will receive free admission to the home basketball game that evening as the Redmen host Buckeye Central in the final regular season contest of the year. In addition to free admission, BES students will also receive a coupon for a free popcorn and drink at the concession stand. All elementary school parents can purchase a presale ticket for the contest for $4, or they can pay regular price the night of the game.

“We are very excited to continue the elementary school pep rally,” Athletics/Activities Director Tony Rose said. “This event is the result of a suggestion by the community from the Athletic Strategic Plan. The plan specifically calls for the ‘development of a calendar of events which honors tradition and increases community support and student involvement for the Redmen athletic program’, and this program is one example of how we are committed to our strategic plan.”
