CRESTLINE — The Crawford Park District took some time from its annual Animal Extravaganza Saturday to recognize a local radio station host for his efforts to promote the district’s goals of nature preservation and education. In a bit of a surprise ceremony, Park District Director Bill Fisher awarded WBCO “Spotlight” host Dave Bush with a certificate of appreciation.
In front of attendees at the Lowe-Volk Park event, Fisher announced that Bush was being recognized for his outstanding service to the Crawford Park District in his regional promotion of the Park District’s mission of nature preservation and nature education and his belief that those endeavors improve the quality of life for area citizens.
“I’m kind of shocked by this,” Bush said as he received the certificate.
Fisher praised Bush for his unwavering support for the Park District through his show, saying it was more than just simple questions and answers. “Dave really pushes for the Park District,” he said. “We have a shared vision of giving the community something to be proud of, and people connect with that.”
Bush concurred, saying, “Our goals are the same. We really want to see the Park District grow.”
The Spotlight show is a community affairs program that can be heard every weekday beginning at 9:05am on Country Legends 1540 AM/107.5 FM WBCO.
WBCO is a part of the North Central Ohio Media Group along with sister station, Iconic Rock Q92.7 FM WQEL and Crawford County Now.
