BUCYRUS — A Bucyrus woman is hoping to inspire local residents to live a healthy lifestyle while feeling and looking good doing it.
DiAna Shroll, owner of Fit Fab Fun, is hoping her new business can be a welcoming place for those looking to find a healthy was to live.
Fit Fab Fun will be located in the storefront which previously housed U Be Dazzled in downtown Bucyrus.
Fit Fab Fun was inspired into creation, in part, by Shroll’s personal experience and success in fitness. Four years ago, Shroll hired a personal trainer and lost 35 pounds.
“As you mature in age, if you aren’t already concerned about your health, you should be,” she said. “It’s very important to eat right and exercise.”
Eating right is a premier option to be found at Fit Fab Fun, as fresh-fruit and dessert smoothies will be available, as well as the ability to add protein to any smoothie.
A full salad bar, which also will feature wraps, is an option for those seeking a healthy meal option as well.
Canine companions may find treats too with poochie smoothies and K9 Cookie Jar dog cookies available.
Emily Keller, of The Oasis Yoga Studio in Galion, will offer yoga classes in the back of the store to assist in fulfilling the “Fit” portion of the business.
“I was talking to Emily, once, and said how great it would be to have somewhere with a healthy smoothie bar, where she could also teach yoga,” Shroll said. “Then the building became available and it seemed like a good fit.”
Shroll considers yoga the exercise for all.
“Both of our kids are doctors, and they strongly encourage yoga,” Shroll said. “It’s so good for the body and it’s good for people of all ages to do.”
While patrons eat healthily and exercise their bodies, Shroll said she wants them to feel and look good doing it too. The “Fab” part of the business is the women’s active-wear clothing available in the boutique that allows women to be comfortable and fashionable.
“It’s important for women trying to better themselves to be comfortable in their own skin,” Shroll said. “We have sizes from extra-extra small to XXXL. We want to encourage all women to come in and put their lives on the healthy track.
“The clothes we will offer will have yoga pants, leisure pants and yoga tanks, and other clothing that a woman can wear to the gym and the grocery and their kids’ games and ne comfortable and look nice.”
Shroll said including men’s athletic wear is not out of the question in the future, but for now, the store will focus on women’s clothing.
That does not, however, mean men are not welcome to come to the store for the other services provided.
“We truly feel that we have something for everyone,” Shroll said. “This is new for Bucyrus and we just hope everyone will come in and give us a chance.”
Shroll said she hopes the store will be fully operational by the last week in July, but those wishing for a sneak peek may stop by the store on South Sandusky Avenue during Bucyrus’ Christmas in July First Friday event from 5-8 p.m. for a sample of the smoothies offered.
