The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle injury accident on Lincoln Highway Monday morning.
A 2004 Chevy truck driven by eighteen-year-old Austin Schender of Willmington, Ohio, had been traveling eastbound on Lincoln Highway when Schender lost control of the vehicle due to the icy road conditions. The truck went left of center and struck a westbound 1999 Volkswagen Jetta driven by Tamara Fields of Shelby.
Schender’s two juvenile passengers were transported to the Galion Community Hospital by the Crestline Fire Department. Schender was taken to the Bucyrus Community Hospital by Lifestar EMS and Fields was lifeflighted to St. Vincent Hospital.
Jefferson Township Fire Department also assisted at the scene.
