Bucyrus Police Chief David Koepke recently commented to Crawford County Now on the recent internal lockdown performed by Bucyrus City Schools
Koepke said the threat was vague and made on social media, but was not directed at any specific target.
He said his officers currently are working to track down the original source of the threat.
Officers have returned to their normal patrol after being on scene, and the school’s resource officer still is on campus.
Koepke said procedure was followed as normal. A threat was received, the situation was investigated and the all clear was given when no evidence of danger was found.
Koepke said he stands in unison with a statement previously made by Bucyrus Superintendent Kevin Kimmel that a threat was made and no students or staff members were in danger.
The investigation remains ongoing, though the lockdown has been lifted.
