Bucyrus City School District ends internal lock down

NEWS RELEASE:

The following is a statement from Bucyrus Superintendent Mr. Kevin Kimmel:

“We have lifted the internal lock down at the Bucyrus Elementary School and the Bucyrus Secondary School. We received an unsubstantiated threat of violence against the school district and made the decision to do an internal lockdown to ensure the safety and security of all Bucyrus City School District students and staff members. Officers from the Bucyrus Police Department were dispatched to both buildings as an additional precautionary measure to ensure student and staff safety.

“We take all threats against our district very seriously and will do everything possible to make sure students are safe and secure when they are in our care. Again, the internal lockdown has been lifted and all Bucyrus City School District students and staff members are safe and secure.”
