Shirley E. Oliphant, 90, of Crestline, died Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Crestline Nursing Center, where she is finally at peace and in no more pain.

Shirley was born in Waynesburg, on January 3, 1927 to the late Dennis and Rhea (Hane) Fulton.  She married Ned R. Oliphant on December 24, 1949 and he preceded her in death on March 3, 2004.

Shirley was a member of the Calvary United Church of Christ, Crestline, where she was involved in the Tabitha Society.  For many years she was very active with the Girl Scouts.  Shirley enjoyed knitting, especially mittens and slippers.  She was an avid reader. She was also a member of the Needle Workers and the Alpha Phi Sigma Sorority.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Randall Swihart, Crestline, granddaughter, Alyssa Turrill, great-granddaughter, Emily Turill, step-grandsons, Joshua Swihart and Jerry Swihart.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 223 West Main St., Crestline, with Rev. Gary Proietti officiating.  Burial will take place at a later date in Greenlawn Cemetery, Crestline.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Calvary United Church of Christ, Crestline, in care of the funeral home.
