William H. Ramsey, 81, of Galion, died Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Galion Pointe Nursing Home, Galion after a short illness.
Bill was born in Jamestown, TN on January 31, 1936 to the late Travis and Lily (Hall) Ramsey. He married Juanita Barler on December 3, 1955 and she preceded him in death on March 25, 2010.
Bill was retired from Galion Iron Works after 40 years of service as a fork lift operator working in the stockroom. In his retirement he enjoyed sitting on his porch drinking his root beer. He also loved listening to WBCO radio. Bill, who never met a stranger, was a loving and caring person who had a wonderful smile and would do anything for you.
He is survived by his sons; Jimmy (Virginia) Ramsey, Sheridan, IN, Justin Ramsey, Galion; his daughter, Lisa (Roger) Davidson, Mansfield; 4 grandchildren, Nick Ramsey, Laura (Will) Lott, Tasha Davidson, Dustin Davidson; 3 step grandchildren, Jennifer, Elizabeth, David; 6 great-grandchildren; his brothers, David (Maxine) Ramsey, Shelby, and Raymond Ramsey.
In addition to his parents and his wife he was preceded in death by his sisters, Wanda Butler and Maryann Snyder.
Friends may call Friday from 11:00AM to 1:00PM on Friday, September 29, 2017 at the Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 303 Portland Way North, Galion. Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM following viewing. Burial will follow in Crawford County Memory Gardens, Crestline.
