The Crawford Park District has its own Geocaching Trail for 2013 with caches hidden in all seven parks in the district. Geocachers are encouraged to visit all seven parks and log each cache to receive a reward.
A kickoff event is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 23 at Lowe-Volk Park.
9:00AM – Arrive at GZ (Lowe-Volk Park Nature Center), register, and receive your coordinate sheets. You will then depart to visit parks and log caches.
12:00PM – Check-in begins! You can start to return to GZ to submit your codes on your worksheets. We will have cookies and refreshments as you return to GZ. You may return to GZ whenever you like from 12:00PM on as long as you are back by 5:30PM.
12:00PM – 5:30PM – Find 50 temporary geocaches hidden on site at GZ. You will travel the trails at Lowe Volk Park and find up to 50 of the temporary geocaches hidden along our trails!
A computer will be available to hook cachers’ GPS units up and upload all of the needed coordinates for the day. Each cacher will need to bring their own cable to connect their personal device.
