The North Central Electric Cooperative annual meeting and family fun day will be held Tuesday, June 13, at the Seneca County Fairgrounds in Tiffin.
The cooperative will be introducing its new community solar program called OurSolar. A solar array was built behind the cooperative’s office in Attica. Presentations outlining the program will be given at 2 and 4 p.m. Members will be able to purchase the output of up to five panels at the event.
The day’s activities will kick-off at 1 p.m. Activities will include bounce houses, children rides, a petting zoo with two shows, electric safety demonstration by North Central linemen, face painting and a photo booth from 1 to 6 p.m. There also will be wellness displays and member business displays. A free dinner will be served from 4 to 6 p.m. Members will have received an annual meeting registration card with their June bill. They must bring that perforated card to the meeting in order to register and receive a gift from the cooperative.
The 81st annual business meeting will begin at 6 p.m. and will feature reports from North Central Electric Cooperative General Manager Markus Bryant, Board President Duane Frankart, and People Fund Chairman Rex Grasz.
The event is open to cooperative members and their families. Registration will open at 1 p.m. All children will receive a sticker upon registration in order to participate in youth activities.
This year, members will be asked to consider three Code of Regulations amendments dealing with patronage capital credits. Members also will officially elect three members to serve three-year terms on the cooperative’s Board of Trustees. The three trustee candidates are running unopposed.
In District 1, Kevin E. Bishop of Chatfield Township in Crawford County is seeking his fourth term on the board. District 1 includes the cooperative’s service area in Crawford and Richland counties.
In District 2, Dennis W. Schindler of Crane Township in Wyandot County has been on the board since 1984. District 2 includes all of the cooperative’s service territory in Wyandot County.
In District 3, Nick W. Wagner IV of Venice Township in Seneca County is seeking his second term on the board. District 3 covers Lyme, New Haven, Norwich, Richmond and Sherman townships in Huron County and Reed, Thompson and Venice townships in Seneca County.
North Central Electric serves approximately 9,600 consumers in Seneca, Crawford, Wyandot, Richland, Huron, Sandusky, Hancock and Wood counties.
