The Crestline Board of Education met in special session on Monday, May 22. Board member Jeff Wilhite was absent.

As required by law, treasurer Tonya Boyd presented the district’s five-year forecast. The final state of district finances remains changeable, depending on a new state biennial budget, which is currently being negotiated by state legislators.

What will not change is the critical need to renew the school levy on Nov. 7, said Boyd.

The school’s financial state is good right now, Boyd reported, but expenses are rising. One example is an 18 percent increase in what the district pays for employee insurance.
