Thirteen is not usually associated with good fortune but it was the number that led to a Bucyrus win over Wynford in N10 action on Tuesday. The Redmen rolled Wynford pitching for 13 runs in the top of the first and then withstood a Royals’ barrage the rest of the evening for a 15-12 win.
Both teams banged out 12 hits and there was only one error committed by either team as the bats simply took over the game. Mason Kent had the only three-game hit of the night for the Redmen with two singles, a triple and three RBI. Ryan Evans also had two hits for Bucyrus as did Gavin Lewis, Dylan Goff and Lucas Kozinski. Lewis drove in four runs for the Redmen and had the lone home run in the contest.
The Royals’ offense was led by Caleb Stone, Jalon Brown and Noah Smith with two hits each. Noah Smith had a four-RBI night for the Royals and Jordan Imbody drove in two.
Ben Seibert picked up the pitching victory for the Redmen who are now 2-4 in league play and 6-7 overall. Wynford falls to 5-2 and 5-6.
