On October 15, 2013 at approximately 1:10 am, the Galion Police Department responded to Speedway, 746 Harding Way West on a burglary in progress. Upon arrival, officers found that the front door glass was shattered but no one was still in the business. Officers reviewed the surveillance tape and began searching for the suspect. Assistance was received from the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit during the search.
At approximately 5:05 am, our department received a call from Galion Community Hospital regarding a suspicious person on their property. Officers responded and located the suspicious person, who matched the description of the Speedway suspect. Upon further investigation, officers were able to make an arrest for the Speedway burglary. Officers also were able to recover some of the cigarettes that were stolen from Speedway.
Arrested was Jessie McCurrie, 23 years of age with a last known address of Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was held at the Crawford County Jail on charges of Breaking and Entering and the case was presented to the Crawford County Prosecutor’s Office for filing of formal charges.
