Colonel Crawford and Wynford battled it out on the hard court Saturday night with the Royals almost pulling out the come from behind victory, but when the final buzzer sounded it was Colonel Crawford clinging to a four point victory.
The game started out evenly matched with both teams ending the first stanza tied at 7. The second quarter Colonel Crawford looked to gain firm control outscoring Wynford 21-9 for a 28-16 halftime lead. Both teams matched each other in the third with 10 points apiece for a 38-26 Eagles lead. The Royals charged hard in the fourth quarter outscoring the Eagles 32-24, but it was too little too late as the Eagles picked up the 62-58 win.
Colonel Crawford had four players score in double digits with Brody Martin leading the way with 15, Harley Shaum adding 14, Cameron McCreary contributing 11, and Heath Starkey adding a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds to Crawford’s cause.
With the win the Eagles improve to 12-4 on the season with a 9-2 N10 record. Crawford will next host Seneca East on Friday, February 3.
Wynford also had four players score in double digits. Jack Reed led the Royals with 15, Jordan Creel scored 14 points, Zach Hoffman added 11 points, and Thad Hensel contributed 10 points.
With the loss Wynford drops to .500 on the year with a 7-7 overall record and 7-4 in the N10. The Royals will host Carey on Friday, February 3.

After inducting three new members into their sports hall of fame, Buckeye Central lost to the Galion Tigers 69-59.
Tristan Baldy led the Tigers with 16 points, Jack McElligott added 14 points, and Zhamir Anderson added 11 points. Chase Cooke had a double-double for Galion with 10 points and 17 rebounds.
Buckeye Central’s Jacob Shade, who had a double-double as well, led all scorers with 19 points and 10 rebounds, Trent Craft added 11 points and Dalton Scheaffer contributed 10.
In other action around the N10 Upper Sandusky continued its winning ways by beating Ridgedale 69-28, Bucyrus beat Seneca East 77-64, and Carey beat Mohawk 55-43.
In the Mid-Buckeye Conference Crestline beat Vanlue 64-55.
In N10 Girls action Carey beat New Riegal 47-36.
