The Tribute to Women and Industry (TWIN) program has awarded $5,500 in grants for education and health care.

Pioneer Career and Technology Center ‘s Adult Education Program received $1,750; Madison Adult Career Center, $1,400; North Central State College Foundation, $1,000; Mansfield City Schools Adult and Community Education, $850; Mid-Ohio Home Health and Caring Hearts of Mid-Ohio, $500.

Founded in 1985, TWIN has enabled local employers to honor more than 600 women who have made significant contributions and achieved responsible positions in industry through managerial, executive or professional jobs. It also honors women in areas of social services, education, volunteerism and not-for-profit roles. TWIN recognizes those equal-opportunity companies in which women have earned vital positions.

This year’s event celebrating these women of influence, industry and commerce was held May 16 at the Mid-Ohio Conference Center.

MedCentral Health System is the corporate sponsor of the TWIN program. Committees already are formed to plan the 2014 TWIN program which will be the 30th year to salute a new group of outstanding women.
