This past Sunday, May 15th, the Colonel Crawford Music Department hosted their second annual Ice Cream Social. This event featured many musical ensembles from Colonel Crawford’s bands and choirs.

The day began with the “World Premier” of this year’s 5th Grade Band. That first performance on stage in a young musician’s life is truly a memorable moment. The fifth grade band performed several short musical numbers, Decatur Street Overture, and Power Rock.

Next on the day was the 6th Grade Band. This group performed March Royale, Anasazi, Junk Funk, Hang on Sloopy, and the Theme from Star Wars. It was a fun, and energetic performance that even included one storm trooper.

The 6th and 7th grade Choirs took center stage next. Their performances featured many highlights from Broadway Musicals, and each group had their own staged choreography.

The 7th Grade band put on a full length concert. They performed Legend of the Eagles, Images of Ireland, Baywood Overture, Old Time Rock n’ Roll, Barbara Ann, Louie Louie, as well as the Colonel Crawford Fight Song.
