Details are few, but the Ohio State Highway Patrol did confirm this morning they got their man even though he ran from a traffic stop Thursday. They also got a little bit more.

The Patrol is not identifying the man who fled on foot into a nearby field when the vehicle he was in was stopped for speeding on Ohio 4 near the intersection at Spore-Brandywine Road.

However, the muddy fields were apparently a little too much to overcome and the man quickly surrendered to deputies from the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office who were in pursuit.

Crawford County Sheriff's Office 1Found in the car were drugs as well as a firearm. The man is currently being held in the Crawford County Justice Center on an active warrant issued in Pennsylvania. Additional charges may be filed here following discussions with the Crawford County Prosecutor’s Office.

A female in the car was questioned and released.
