Sandi Latimer, author and former Crawford County resident, will visit the Bucyrus Public Library Saturday, May 7th from 10:00 AM-2:00 PM. Latimer started her career at the Telegraph-Forum before attending Kent State University for journalism.
After graduation, Latimer interned at WBCO radio station, also in Bucyrus. After relocating to Columbus, Latimer began writing for The Columbus Messenger, a local weekly newspaper. Many of her stories for the Messenger have won awards through the Ohio Professional Writers/National Federation of Press Women.
Latimer and her husband, Red, raised poodles for 27 years which resulted in her first work of creative writing, Poodle Mistress. Her second book, Newsroom Buddies, details her time spend collaborating with John Kady at United Press International. Both books received an Editor’s Choice award for quality of writing. Newsroom Buddies also received honors at the 2015 Creative Arts Event in Columbus, Ohio.
